Kalki Koechlin recently embraced motherhood after giving birth to a baby girl, whom she shares with boyfriend Guy Hershberg. It was only day before yesterday that the actress revealed her name – Sappho – the meaning of which has a beautiful significance. Now, taking to her Instagram, the Yeh Jawaani Hai Dewaani actress has shared a few first glimpses of her munchkin and opened up behind the process of giving birth to her. She also thanked her doctors for not letting her give up after more than 17 hours of struggling.

The pictures see Kalki and Guy, along with their team of doctors, happily posing with a little Sappho, who’s seen resting in her mother’s arms. In her caption, Kalki revealed that her doctors refused to give up on her after she was tired of 17 hours of struggle and wanted to take the unnatural route for her baby’s arrival. “So thankful to the whole team at Tulip Women's Care and my to doctors @docsheetalsabharwal and @drrvpunjabi who simply refused to give up on me even when after 17 hours I was so tired I begged them to take the baby out any way they could and they said no, you've come this far and you're going to have your natural waterbirth, and an hour later Sappho was born. You guys are miracle workers!” read her post.

Earlier, revealing the name of her babygirl, Kalki had written, “Please welcome Sappho. Born 07/02/20. She just spent 9 months wrapped up like a momo in my uterus. Let's give her some space. Thank you for all the good wishes and positive energy pouring in.”
